National Parents Survey on After School Care
The Department of Education and Skills (DES) and the Department of Children and Youth Affairs (DCYA) with the assistance of the National Parents Council Primary(NPC) are conducting a survey of parents’ views and needs in relation to the supply and demand of after school care for school-aged children with a view to informing the work of the Department in contributing to the after school commitments expressed in the Programme for Government.
To find out the views of parents of children in primary school on:
· The availability of school-age childcare in the area
· The type of school-age childcare currently used by the parent
· The type of school-age childcare that would be preferred by the parent
The survey is seeking your views, as a parent, on the extent of existing after school care and the potential demand for same.
The National Parents Council Primary are encouraging as many parents as possible to take the time to complete this survey as your views are important in considering this issue. All information you provide will be treated in the strictest confidence and will not be shared or used for any other purposes. All information is provided on an anonymous basis.
